AJourney Tracker — start your pilgrimage

Going to Tirumala? Open tirumalainfo.com/track.php on your phone — or tap the orange "Track Your Pilgrimage" card at the top of the live status page.

Three quick fields to start

  1. Name or nickname — what your family will see on the journey page. Examples: "Amma", "Ravi", "Suresh's family".
  2. From which city? (optional) — Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, etc. Shows up under the name as context.
  3. Choose your darshan path — pick one:
    • 🎟️ SSD — Token from Tirupati · most common. Get token at Bhudevi / Srinivasam / Vishnunivasam, then climb to Tirumala.
    • 🆓 Sarva — Free Darshan · walk-in, no token stage.
    • 💰 ₹300 Special Entry · paid quick darshan via 300-rupee slot.

Tap 🚀 Start Journey → you'll get your own journey page with a unique 5-letter code (like AB7K). Bookmark it on your phone.

Sharing the link with family

The journey page has a Share with family card. Two buttons:

The family link looks like tirumalainfo.com/track.php?id=AB7K — anyone with this link can see your live progress, but only you can mark stages.

Marking stages as you go

You'll see 8–10 stages depending on the path you chose. Each unfinished stage has a Mark as done button. Tap it → a small box pops up with optional note ("got token, queue moving fast 🙏") → tap ✓ Mark stage done.

Tapped wrong? Each completed stage has an ↶ Undo button right next to it.

No app to install. No signup. No login. Everything works in the browser — works on iPhone, Android, basic smartphones, and even Jio Phone with browser.

BJourney Tracker — for family back home

Got a journey link from someone going to Tirumala? Tap the link → see their live progress page. Nothing to install or sign up for.

What the page shows

Privacy note: family-side viewers see stage names + timestamps + notes only. Never raw GPS coordinates. Even if the link gets forwarded around in family WhatsApp groups, no location-stalking risk.

How long does the link work?

Each journey is automatically deleted 48 hours after the last activity. So if Amma completes her trip Tuesday afternoon, the link stops working Thursday afternoon.

CGPS auto-tracking — how it works

The most useful feature — your phone's GPS auto-marks stages as you reach known landmark zones. You don't have to remember to tap buttons.

Enabling it (one tap)

  1. After starting your journey, you'll see a permission card: "📡 Enable auto-tracking?"
  2. Tap ✓ Yes, enable. Your browser will show the standard "Allow location?" prompt — tap Allow.
  3. The GPS pill at the top turns green: "📡 Auto-tracking on". Done — put your phone in your pocket.

Don't want GPS? Tap No thanks. Manual stage tapping still works perfectly.

What gets detected automatically

22 landmarks across 8 stages. When your phone reaches one for ~6 minutes, the matching stage auto-marks with the landmark name in the note.

Battery life

Sampling is light — once every 3 minutes, only while the browser tab is visible. Auto-pauses when your phone is locked or the tab is in the background. A 10-hour pilgrimage uses about as much battery as 30 minutes of Google Maps.

If GPS doesn't work indoors

Inside Vaikuntham Q-complex, GPS may not get a signal due to concrete walls. The page shows a soft notice and you can tap stages manually for that stretch. Once back outdoors, auto-tracking resumes.

For elderly pilgrims (companion mode): if grandma/grandpa doesn't use a smartphone, the relative going with them keeps the journey open on their own phone with GPS on. Their phone IS the tracker. Family back home sees the same auto-progression. Works for 95% of elderly-pilgrim cases.

DSOS button — for emergencies

A red 🆘 Send SOS via WhatsApp card sits at the bottom of your journey page, always visible.

Tap it → the page tries to grab a fresh GPS fix, then opens WhatsApp with this kind of pre-filled message:

🆘 Amma needs help.
Last stage: 🛕 At Tirumala (1:18 PM)
Location: https://maps.google.com/?q=13.68314,79.34663
Track live: tirumalainfo.com/track.php?id=AB7K

Pick who to send it to (family group, individual contact, emergency number) and tap Send. The recipient gets the live journey link plus a Google Maps URL with your exact last-known coordinates.

Important: SOS does not auto-call anyone. It builds a message — you still pick the recipient and tap Send. Avoids accidental triggers, lets you choose context-appropriate contact.

GFrequently asked questions

Is the Journey Tracker free?

Yes — completely free. No subscription, no payment. Tirumalainfo.com is hand-curated to help pilgrims; nothing to pay.

Do I need to install an app?

No. Everything works in your phone's browser. You can also "Add to Home Screen" from your browser menu to get an app-like icon — but no actual install required.

Is my location data safe?

Yes. GPS coordinates are used only on the server to detect when you reach a known landmark — never shown to family. After 24 hours of journey inactivity, all location data is automatically deleted. The whole journey itself is deleted after 48 hours.

What if I don't have a smartphone?

The Journey Tracker page works on any device with a browser — including basic smartphones. If you're on a feature phone, ask a family member traveling with you to keep the journey open on their phone (companion mode).

Can I edit my journey after starting?

You can mark stages as done, add notes, and undo stages. To change the darshan path (e.g. switch from SSD to Sarva), start a new journey — the old one auto-deletes after 48 hours.

Can family see my exact location?

No. Family sees only stage names and timestamps — like "Amma reached Tirumala at 1:18 PM" — never raw GPS coordinates. The only time exact coordinates leave your phone is when you tap the SOS button.

How accurate is the panchang?

Sun/moon timings are computed using the standard NOAA solar position formula for Tirumala's exact lat/lon. Tithi/Nakshatra/Yoga/Karana use a bundled lookup table covering current dates. For most pilgrim use it's accurate to within a few minutes — but for ritual-precise muhurta selection, please cross-check with TTD or your family astrologer.

Where is Tirumalainfo.com run from?

Hand-curated by a small team of devotees. Live status (crowd, tokens, accommodation) is manually updated several times a day. Hindu Calendar and panchang are computed automatically. Best used alongside official TTD updates — not a replacement for ttdsevaonline.com.
