Vontimitta, April 1, 2026 – As part of the annual Brahmotsavams at Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple, Vontimitta, the sixth‑day celebrations on Wednesday morning witnessed the Lord Sri Kodandarama Swamy assuming the Shiva Dhanurbhanga Alankaram, delighting devotees with His majestic and powerful form. The seva was timed to coincide with the divine remembrance of Sita–Rama Kalyanam, creating a spiritually rich and emotionally charged atmosphere at the temple town.
The procession commenced grandly at 7:30 AM, as the utsava murtis, adorned in the special Shiva Dhanurbhanga costume, were taken from the temple sanctum along the four mada streets. The Lord’s form, dressed to depict the moment Sri Rama breaks Lord Shiva’s mighty bow, evoked the sacred episode from the Swayamvara of Sita, when Rama’s unmatched strength and determination secured the hand of the Princess.
The procession moved through the streets in a high‑energy, festive mood, accompanied by the rhythmic beats of Kerala drums, traditional chekka bhajans by devotional groups, and colorful kolatam performances. The sounds of mangala vadyams and the continuous chanting of “Sri Ramachandra Kripalu” and “Sita Rama” elevated the devotional fervour, turning the route into a living stage for collective prayer.

Devotees gathered thickly along the parade path, offering camphor harati at every step, scattering flowers, and folding their hands in reverence. Many devotees described the sight of Lord Rama in Shiva Dhanurbhanga Alankaram as a vision of divine strength, valor, and compassion, reinforcing their faith in the Lord’s protective power.
The Shiva Dhanurbhanga Alankaram symbolically represents the episode where Lord Rama breaks the bow of Lord Shiva during the Swayamvara, a pivotal moment that leads to the marriage of Sita and Sri Rama. By adopting this form during the Kalyanotsavam‑linked Brahmotsavam day, the temple explicitly links the divine wedding of Sita–Rama with the strength and grace of Sri Kodandarama, making the seva both visually striking and theologically meaningful.

ఒంటిమిట్ట, ఏప్రిల్ 1, 2026 – ఒంటిమిట్టలోని శ్రీ కోదండరామస్వామి వారి వార్షిక బ్రహ్మోత్సవాల ఆరో దినంగా గుర్తించిన బుధవారం ఉదయం, శ్రీ కోదండరామస్వామి వారు శివ ధనుర్భంగ అలంకరణలో భక్తులకు అంగరంగ వైభవంగా దర్శనమిచ్చారు. ఈ విశేష అలంకరణ స్వయంవర సమయంలో శ్రీ రాముడు శివ ధనుస్సును భగ్నం చేసిన పవిత్ర సందర్భాన్ని స్మరింపజేస్తుంది, దీంతో భక్తుల మనసులు అధికంగా భక్తితో కరిగిపోయాయి.
సేవ సాయంత్రం 7:30 గంటలకు ప్రారంభమైంది. శివ ధనుర్భంగ అలంకరణలో అలంకరించబడిన ఉత్సవ మూర్తులు నాలుగు మదా వీధుల చుట్టూ ప్రసాదయాత్రగా వెళ్లాయి. కేరళ డ్రమ్స్, భజన గుంపుల పాడే చెక్క భజన్లు, వర్ణరంజిత కొలాటం ప్రదర్శనలు, మంగళ వాద్యాల మధుర ధ్వనుల మధ్య భక్తుల మధ్య నుండి ఉద్ఘాటన ధ్వనులు అన్నీ కలిపి గరుడ సేవ చాలా గొప్పగా సాగింది.
ప్రతి అడుగు ముందు భక్తులు కర్పూర హారతి సమర్పించి, శ్రీ కోదండరామస్వామి వారి దర్శనం పొందారు. భగవాన్ శివ ధనుస్సును భగ్నం చేసే రామ స్వరూపం చూస్తున్న భక్తులు ఈ దర్శనాన్ని శక్తి, పరాక్రమం, దయ కలిపిన అపార దైవిక భావాన్ని అనుభవిస్తున్నారని చెప్పారు.
