Tirumala, 23 April 2026 – The revamped Sri Venkateswara (SV) Museum in Tirumala is nearing completion and is scheduled to be formally opened in September 2026. Built at an estimated cost of ₹145 crore, the upgraded museum will span 1.20 lakh square feet and feature 14 interactive galleries dedicated to the history, architecture, and culture of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD).

Project progress and design

Scope: The redeveloped museum is spread over 1.20 lakh sq. ft. and will host 14 themed, interactive galleries, with the inner galleries already complete and the outer sections on track to be finished soon.

Technology partner: The interactive galleries are being developed with technical support from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), incorporating modern display systems, multimedia installations, and visitor‑friendly interfaces.

Content focus: The galleries will highlight the historical evolution, architectural legacy, and cultural traditions of the Tirumala temple, including its role in Sri Vaishnava theology, pilgrimage practices, and temple administration over centuries.
TTD review and inauguration

On 22 April 2026, TTD Additional Executive Officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary inspected the museum site in Tirumala, reviewed the construction progress with officials, and confirmed that work is on schedule.

TTD sources indicate that the SV Museum revamp is expected to be inaugurated in September 2026, ahead of the festive and high‑darshan season, to enhance the educational and cultural experience of pilgrims as well as general visitors.
The upgraded Sri Venkateswara Museum is set to become a major year‑round educational and cultural hub on the Seven Hills, complementing Tirumala’s existing temple and darshan infrastructure.
