TIRUMALA LADDUS DISPATCHED FOR VONTIMITTA KALYANAM

TIRUMALA, March 29, 2026 – In a massive, devotion‑driven effort, 85,000 Srivari Laddus were packed and dispatched from Tirumala to Vontimitta in Kadapa district on Sunday, for distribution to devotees attending Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam on April 1, 2026. Around 300 Srivari Sevaks – comprising over 200 women sevaks and about 100 men sevaks – participated in the sacred laddu‑packing activity, which began at 8:00 AM and continued till 1:00 PM.

Massive laddu‑packing operation

The entire packing operation was carried out at Tirumala under the supervision of the Estates Officer of Tirumala and DyEO (I/C) Sri R. Parakamani Venkateswarulu, along with his team of office staff. The laddus were first brought from the Laddu Bhandaram in batches, counted, and then packed into labeled cartons designated for dispatch to Vontimitta.

The sheer scale of the operation – 85,000 laddus packed in about five hours – showcased the efficiency and discipline of the seva team, while also underlining the deep sense of service that motivates the volunteer devotees. Volunteers worked in rotating shifts, ensuring that speed did not compromise cleanliness or sanctity, as every laddu is considered prasada meant for direct distribution to pilgrims.

Supervision and coordination

Addressing the occasion, the Estates Officer highlighted that the entire exercise was conducted under the directives of TTD Chairman Sri B. R. NaiduEO Sri M. Ravichandra, and Additional EO Sri Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary. He praised the devotion and dedication of the sevaks, noting that they treated the laddu‑packing not as a mechanical task but as puja in itself, with constant chanting of Lord Rama’s name and careful handling of each sweet as divine offering.

The Srivari Seva Sadan staff were also present throughout the program, coordinating logistics, managing supply flow from the laddu kitchen, and ensuring that the packed cartons were properly labeled and sealed before being loaded onto trucks for dispatch. Security and logistics officers arranged the transportation so that the laddus would reach Vontimitta well before the scheduled Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam seva.

Significance for Vontimitta Kalyanam

The 85,000 Srivari Laddus are meant to be distributed to the devotees who gather for Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam at Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple, Vontimitta, on April 1, 2026. This divine prasada is expected to be a major highlight of the event, reinforcing the spiritual and cultural bond between Tirumala TTD and the Vontimitta temple community.

For many devotees, receiving Tirumala laddu at such a distant but closely connected temple function is not just a treat, but a symbol of divine connection, as the same prasada that is offered in Tirumala is shared with pilgrims participating in major utsavams elsewhere in the region.

Standout points

  • Scale of devotion: 300 sevaks working for nearly five hours to pack 85,000 laddus highlights the massive grassroots support behind TTD’s distribution network.

  • Integration of seva and temple events: The dispatch of Tirumala laddus to Vontimitta underlines how major utsavams outside Tirumala are now symbolically linked with the Tirumala ecosystem.

  • Administrative coordination: The joint involvement of Estates Officer, DyEO, Srivari Seva Sadan staff, and sevaks reflects a well‑organized, multi‑layered execution model for large‑scale prasada‑dispatch programs.
