ARRANGEMENTS COMPLETED FOR SRI SITARAMA KALYANOTSAVAM AT VONTIMITTA – TTD AND DISTRICT OFFICIALS MAKE EXTENSIVE PREPARATIONS
Vontimitta / Tirupati, March 31, 2026 – The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has completed all arrangements to conduct the grand Sri Sitarama Kalyanotsavam at Vontimitta on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. The event is expected to draw a very large number of devotees from Kadapa, Tirupati, and neighbouring districts, for the divine wedding seva of Sri Sita and Sri Rama at the Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple.
Under the directions of TTD Executive Officer Sri M. Ravichandra, senior TTD officials have coordinated closely with Kadapa district administration and police to ensure smooth crowd management, security, and essential facilities for devotees on this high‑footfall day.
Chief Minister’s special offering
A key highlight of the day is the special offering by the State Government. On April 1 at 6:00 PM, Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu will present silk garments (Pattu Vastram) on behalf of the state, adding a ceremonial and institutional dimension to the Kalyanotsavam. The Chief Minister’s participation underscores the importance of Vontimitta temple festivals in the state’s cultural and religious calendar.
Devotee facilities and prasadam distribution
TTD and the district have made large‑scale infrastructure arrangements for devotees, including:

Seating for 60,000 devotees across 121 galleries, with paramedical staff, TTD employees, police, and volunteers deployed in each gallery.

28 Thalambralu kiosks, where each devotee will receive pearl Thalambralu, Srivari laddu prasadam, kankanam (wrist thread), and annaprasadam during the seva.

11 shelters along the route and venue, equipped with buttermilk, panakam (jaggery water), coolers, medical staff, and police for walking devotees.

Shaded pandals and water sprinklers along the procession route to reduce heat stress.

German sheds for 3,000 devotees near the temple to manage the queue and maintain order.
Devotees will also receive free food (Annaprasadam) continuously from morning to night at the temple and venue, with a menu including rice, sambar, rasam, buttermilk, chutney, vegetables, and jaggery pongal. In the evening, snacks such as pulihora, rava kesari, Mysore pak, biscuits, karasu, banana, tissue, and wooden spoons will be provided. The event will be supported by 3 lakh water bottles, 2 lakh buttermilk packets, and 1 lakh tetra packs, ensuring hydration for all visitors.
Transport, parking, and crowd management
To handle the expected large influx of vehicles and devotees, TTD and the district have arranged:

85 RTC buses from Kadapa (425 trips) and 40 buses from Rajampet (200 trips), totaling 625 bus trips to ferry devotees to and from the venue.

20 additional buses deployed from traffic diversion points directly to the Kalyanam venue.

13 parking areas on the Kadapa side and 5 on the Tirupati side, with clear markings and traffic regulation.

Lighting and signboards along a 21‑km route, plus mobile patrolling teams to monitor traffic and manage unexpected situations.
A command‑and‑control framework includes a central command centre and 3 sub‑control rooms, coordinating real‑time information between TTD, police, and emergency services.
Security and safety measures
Security for the event is being handled on a war‑footing level:

3,000 police personnel, 510 fire staff, and 200 TTD scouts deployed across the venue and route.

235 CCTV cameras and 12 drones for aerial and ground‑level surveillance.

A central command control centre and 3 sub‑control rooms to manage live monitoring and incident response.

13 medical camps, 250 paramedical staff, 35 doctors, and 8 ambulances on standby, along with fire services and rapid‑response teams.

Visuals, decor, and cultural programs
To enhance the aesthetic and devotional experience:

12 tons of traditional flowers and 1 lakh cut flowers have been arranged for decorations.

A mini Ramayana art installation has been set up for the first time within the temple premises, narrating key episodes from the epic visually.

38 illuminated deity cutouts and signboards guide devotees through the venue and seating areas.

21 LED screens installed around the venue will allow devotees standing in outer galleries to watch the Kalyanotsavam live, even if they are far from the main stage.
Cultural programs include Govindanama parayana, Ramnama bhajanamrutam, and various devotional and folk performances staged before and during the Kalyanotsavam, enriching the spiritual atmosphere.
Deputation staff and volunteers

500 TTD deputation staff and 2,500 Srivari sevaks have been deployed to assist devotees, manage queues, and provide guidance at galleries, shelters, and kiosks.

Live telecast for global devotees
The Sri Sitarama Kalyanotsavam will be telecast live in HD by SVBC, enabling devotees worldwide to participate virtually and receive the darshan of the divine wedding seva from their homes.
