Vontimitta / Tirupati, March 31, 2026 – As part of the annual Brahmotsavams at Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple, the fifth‑day Tuesday night witnessed a breathtaking Garuda Vahanam Seva, during which Sri Sita, Rama, and Lakshmana blessed devotees while seated on the majestic Garuda Vahana. The event turned the temple town into a vibrant sea of chanting, music, and fervent devotion under the soft glow of traditional lamps and temple lights.
The Vahana Seva commenced at 7:00 PM, unfolding in a deeply devotional and highly organised atmosphere. The utsava murtis were carried along the four mada streets in a grand procession, accompanied by the rhythmic beats of Kerala drums, bhajan groups, chekka bhajans, and kolatam performers, all framed by the resonant sounds of traditional mangala vadyams. The collective chanting of “Sri Ramachandra Kripalu” and “Rama Nama” reverberated through the lanes, making the entire Garuda Seva a moving combination of ritual, culture, and mass devotion.
Devotees lined the route, waving camphor harati at every step, showering flowers, folding their hands, and often shedding tears of joy and gratitude as the Lord passed by. The Garuda Vahanam, richly decorated with silks, flags, and lamps, created a striking visual contrast against the dark sky, leaving an enduring impression on both first‑time visitors and long‑time devotees.
Garuda, also known as Vainateya, is the eternal vahana of Lord Maha Vishnu and is counted among the foremost Nitya Suris (eternal devotees). Symbolically, Garuda serves the Lord in multiple roles—as a servant, companion, fan‑bearer, umbrella, seat, abode, vehicle, and even as a flag—embodying the idea that devotion and service themselves are the highest form of divine shelter. The sight of Garuda carrying Sri Kodandarama, Sita, and Lakshmana is thus not only visually mesmerising but also rich in theological meaning, reinforcing the bond between Vishnu‑Garuda and the broader Vaishnava tradition.
Garuda Seva is celebrated with special significance across all 108 Divya Desams, and the Vontimitta observance this year amplified that tradition, blending local Andhra‑Telugu culture with pan‑Vaishnava symbolism.
The event was attended by Deputy EO Smt. Prasanthi, Deputy EO Sri Sivaprasad, Temple Inspector Sri Naveen, and other temple officials, who oversaw crowd‑management, ritual coordination, and security along the procession route.

ఒంటిమిట్ట / తిరుపతి, మార్చి 31, 2026 – ఒంటిమిట్టలోని శ్రీ కోదండరామస్వామి వారి వార్షిక బ్రహ్మోత్సవాల ఐదో దినాన మంగళవారం రాత్రి గరుడ వాహనంపై స్వామి వారి గరుడ సేవ అంగరంగ వైభవంగా జరిగింది. ఈ సమయంలో శ్రీ సీతా రామ లక్ష్మణ స్వామి వారు గరుడ వాహనంపై విరాజమానులై భక్తులకు దర్శనమిచ్చారు. మొత్తం ఒంటిమిట్ట గ్రామం అంతట “రామ నామ” ఘోషలు, భజనలు, మంగళ వాద్యాల మధుర ధ్వనులతో కోరుకు మారుతుంది.
సేవ సాయంత్రం 7:00 గంటలకు ప్రారంభమైంది. కేరళ డ్రమ్స్, భజన గుంపులు, చెక్క భజన్లు, కొలాటం ప్రదర్శనలు, మంగళ వాద్యాల సంతత సంగీతంతో గరుడ వాహనం పై స్వామి వారి ప్రసాదయాత్ర చాలా గొప్పగా సాగింది. ప్రతి అడుగు ముందు భక్తులు కర్పూర హారతి సమర్పించి, శ్రీ సీతా రామ లక్ష్మణ స్వామి దర్శనం పొందుతూ కన్నీటి భక్తితో కరిగిపోయారు.
గరుడు అనే భగవంతుడు ఎప్పటికీ శ్రీ మహా విష్ణువు యొక్క వాహనం, వైనతేయ అనే మరో పేరుతో ప్రసిద్ధి చెందాడు. నిత్య సూరులలో అగ్రపంక్తిలో నిలిచిన గరుడు, భగవంతుడికి బహుళ విధాలుగా సేవ చేస్తాడు – దాసుడు, సఖావు, వీచిక, గొడుగు, ఆసనం, నివాసం, వాహనం, జెండా వరకు అందరికీ సౌకర్యం కలిగిస్తాడు. శ్రీ కోదండరామస్వామిని గరుడు వాహనం పై చూస్తే, సేవ మరియు భక్తి స్వయంగా స్వరూపం భగవంతుని దర్శనం అనే భావన గట్టిపడుతుంది.
గరుడ సేవ 108 దివ్య దేశాల్లో ప్రత్యేక ప్రాముఖ్యతను కలిగి ఉంటుంది. ఈ దిశగా ఒంటిమిట్ట గరుడ సేవ కూడా ఒక అంతర్గత విశేషతను కలిగి ఉంది.
