Vontimitta, March 31, 2026 – As part of the annual Brahmotsavams at Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple, the fifth‑day celebrations on Tuesday morning featured the Lord being taken in a grand Vahana Seva on a palanquin in Mohini Alankaram. The deities of Lord Kodandarama with Sita and Lakshmana were beautifully adorned in the Mohini form, creating a visually striking and deeply devotional sight for devotees gathered along the procession route.

The Vahana Seva was held from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, with the Lord carried on the palanquin around the four mada streets amid devotional singing, bhajans, and traditional kolatam performances. Devotees offered camphor harati at every step, showering flowers and folded‑hand prayers as the utsava murtis passed by, creating a rich, festive‑cum‑spiritual atmosphere.

The Mohini avatar of Lord Vishnu, as described in the Srimad Bhagavatam, is associated with the churning of the ocean (Ksheera Sagara), when the Lord took the form of Mohini to ensure the nectar of immortality reached the Devas and not the Asuras. The Mohini Alankaram underlines the theme that illusion (Maya) binds those without devotion, while true devotees can transcend it through faith and surrender.

After the Vahana Seva, a Snapana Tirumanjanam was conducted from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, during which the utsava deities were ceremonially bathed with milk, curd, honey, sandalwood paste, and coconut water, completing the morning’s rituals in a spirit of reverence and purity.

Later in the evening, Garuda Seva is scheduled to be held in a grand manner from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, continuing the festive intensity of the Brahmotsavams.

The event was attended by Deputy EO Smt. PrasanthiSuperintendent Sri HanumanthaiahTemple Inspector Sri Naveen, and temple priests, who oversaw the smooth conduct of the seva and ensured devotee safety and comfort.
