Tirupati, May 31, 2026: The nine-day annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple in Tirupati concluded on a spiritually elevating note on Sunday night with the sacred Dhwajavarohanam ceremony.
The ritual, performed at 8:40 PM, marked the formal conclusion of the grand festival that witnessed thousands of devotees participating in various religious and cultural events over the past nine days.
Ceremonial Farewell to the Celestial Deities
According to temple traditions and Agama scriptures, the Dhwajavarohanam signifies the ceremonial farewell to the divine beings and celestial deities who were invited at the commencement of the Brahmotsavams through the Dhwajarohanam ritual.
Amid Vedic chants, traditional Mangala Vadyams and sacred rituals, the Garuda flag was respectfully lowered, symbolising the successful completion of the annual festival.
The solemn ceremony created an atmosphere of devotion and gratitude among devotees who had gathered to witness the concluding event.
