Amid traditional music, Kolatams and devotional fervour, the Lord was taken in a grand procession along the four Mada streets. Devotees offered Haratis and chanted Govinda Nama throughout the procession.
Gaja Vahanam symbolizes prosperity, protection and liberation from karmic bondage. The divine procession conveyed the message of surrender to the Almighty.
On Friday, the Lord will bless devotees on Surya Prabha Vahanam in the morning and Chandra Prabha Vahanam at night.
Temple officials, archakas, Srivari Sevaks and devotees participated in the event.
