Tirumala, April 2, 2026 – With exams for students ending and summer holidays approaching, devotees are already flocking in large numbers to Tirumala, the Vaikuntha kshetram. In this context, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Board of Trustees has issued a special advisory to devotees about traffic and travel planning.
TTD explained that BT (bitumen) road repair work on the first Ghat road (the downhill route from Tirumala to Tirupati) is progressing rapidly to ensure devotees’ convenience without fully closing the Ghat stretch. The temple trust has taken special measures so that the road remains open, yet the repairs are completed safely and effectively within the stipulated time.
However, due to ongoing repairs, traffic may move slowly at certain sections, and temporary halts may be required as work teams operate on the road. Because of this, TTD has appealed to devotees to plan their journey at least one hour in advance, urging them to start from Tirumala earlier than usual to avoid inconvenience.
Drivers are also requested to exercise extra caution, drive at reduced speed through the Ghat, and follow instructions from TTD and traffic staff. The trust reiterated that devotees who adjust their travel time and leave at least an hour earlier will be able to reach Tirupati, the airport, railway station, or bus stands with minimal disruption and stress.
