Tirupati, July 27, 2026: The annual Pavitrotsavams at Sri Kapileswara Swamy Temple, Tirupati, continued with immense spiritual fervour on Monday. As part of the celebrations, the sacred Granthi Pavitra Samarpana ritual was performed in a grand manner amidst the chanting of Vedic hymns and traditional temple music.
The annual Pavitrotsavam is observed to seek divine forgiveness for any inadvertent omissions in temple rituals and to reaffirm the sanctity of daily worship.
Morning Rituals Performed
The day's religious programmes commenced with Suprabhata Seva, followed by the sacred Pavitra Abhishekam to Lord Sri Kapileswara Swamy.
Later, priests performed:
- Nitya Homam
- Granthi Pavitra Samarpana
- Special Agama rituals to the presiding deity
All ceremonies were conducted in strict accordance with Saivite Agama traditions.
Devotees Participate with Devotion
A large number of devotees gathered at the temple to witness the sacred rituals and offer prayers to Lord Kapileswara Swamy.
The spiritually charged atmosphere, enriched by Vedic chanting and traditional temple music, filled the temple premises with devotion.
Evening Programme
As part of the ongoing Pavitrotsavams, the following rituals will be conducted at the Yagasala in the evening:
- Special Pujas
- Homam
- Laghu Poornahuti
These rituals mark another important phase of the annual purification festival.
