Tirupati, July 26, 2026: The annual three-day Jyeshtabhishekam of Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple, Tirupati, concluded on Sunday with the sacred Kavacha Samarpanam, performed according to Vaikhanasa Agama traditions.
The concluding rituals witnessed the participation of devotees in large numbers, marking the successful completion of one of the temple's important annual festivals.
Sacred Ceremonies Performed
The final day's rituals included:
- Suprabhatam
- Procession of the sacred Kavachams
- Satakalasa Snapanam
- Mahasanthi Homam
- Snapana Tirumanjanam
The Snapana Tirumanjanam was performed to the Utsava Murthies of Sri Govindaraja Swamy along with Sri Devi and Bhu Devi, using sacred ritual procedures.
Grand Finale with Kavacha Samarpanam
The festival concluded with:
- Kavacha Pratishta
- Akshatarohana
- Asthanam
- Offering of the sacred Kavachams (Kavacha Samarpanam)
These rituals symbolise divine protection and the ceremonial re-adornment of the Lord with sacred armour after the completion of the annual Jyeshtabhishekam.
Evening Procession
In the evening, Sri Govindaraja Swamy will bless devotees during a Veedhi Utsavam, accompanied by the Ubhaya Nachiyars, as the divine procession moves through the temple streets amidst Vedic chanting and devotional music.
