Marichi Maharshi and the Vaikhanasa Tradition
Speaking on the occasion, Sri Deevi Raghava Deekshitulu, President of the Tirumala Sri Vaikhanasa Divya Siddhanta Vivardhini Sabha, said Marichi Maharshi was one of the foremost disciples of Vikhanasa Maharshi, the originator of the Vaikhanasa Shastra.
He explained that Marichi Maharshi is revered as the author of the Vimanarchana Kalpam, the sacred text that prescribes the rituals and worship procedures still followed at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala.
