Tirupati, June 22, 2026: The annual Pushpayagam was celebrated with immense religious fervour at Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple, Tirupati.

Thousands of devotees witnessed the sacred ritual as the Utsava deities of Sri Govindaraja Swamy, along with Sridevi and Bhudevi, were worshipped with fragrant flowers amidst Vedic chanting and traditional mangala vadyams.

Snapana Tirumanjanam Performed

The day's celebrations began with the sacred Snapana Tirumanjanam to the Utsava deities in the morning.

Priests performed the ritual according to Agama traditions, invoking divine blessings before the commencement of the Pushpayagam.

Over Three Tonnes of Flowers Offered

The highlight of the festival was the Pushpayagam, during which:

🌸 More than three tonnes of flowers

🍃 Sacred leaves

🌺 Fragrant floral offerings

were offered to the deities with devotion.

The flowers and sacred leaves were donated by devotees from:

✅ Andhra Pradesh

✅ Tamil Nadu

✅ Karnataka

showcasing the widespread devotion towards Sri Govindaraja Swamy.

Spiritual Significance of Pushpayagam

Pushpayagam is a sacred annual ritual performed as an act of gratitude and atonement for any inadvertent lapses that may occur during temple rituals and annual festivals.

The floral worship symbolizes purity, devotion and surrender to the Lord while seeking divine blessings for peace, prosperity and universal welfare.

Veedhi Utsavam in the Evening

Following the Pushpayagam, the Utsava deities were taken in a grand procession around the four Mada Streets in the evening.

Large numbers of devotees gathered to receive the divine darshan and blessings of the Lord during the Veedhi Utsavam.

TTD officials, temple priests and devotees from various parts of Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring states participated in the celebrations, making the annual Pushpayagam a spiritually vibrant and memorable event.
