Tirupati, July 20, 2026: The annual Paruveta Utsavam of Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy was celebrated with great religious fervour at Srinivasamangapuram, near Srivari Mettu, the sacred footpath traditionally believed to have been traversed by Lord Venkateswara.
The festival witnessed enthusiastic participation from devotees, temple officials and Vedic scholars.
Grand Procession and Traditional Rituals
The Utsava Murthis were taken in a grand procession from the temple to the Paruveta Mandapam at 7:00 AM amidst the chanting of Vedic hymns, traditional temple music and the devotional fervour of devotees.
Following the customary rituals and offerings, the sacred Paruveta ceremony was performed in accordance with temple traditions.
Symbolic Spear-Throwing Ceremony
One of the most significant moments of the festival was the Lord symbolically throwing the spear three times, representing the destruction of evil forces and the protection of righteousness. An Asthanam was later conducted before the deities returned to the temple in a ceremonial procession during the evening.
Devotional Programmes Enhance the Festive Spirit
Artists from the TTD Annamacharya Project rendered soulful devotional Sankirtans, while Bhajan groups performed devotional songs and traditional Kolatam, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere for thousands of devotees.
TTD also arranged Anna Prasadam distribution near Srivari Mettu, enabling devotees to participate comfortably in the celebrations.

The festival was attended by TTD JEO Dr. A. Sharath, Special Grade Deputy EO Smt. Varalakshmi, AEO Sri Gopinath, Superintendent Sri Raj Kumar, temple priests led by Sri Balaji Rangacharyulu, Temple Inspectors Sri Munikumar and Sri Dhanasekhar Jaya, along with other officials, priests and a large gathering of devotees.
