Tirupati, July 28, 2026: The three-day annual Pavitrotsavams at Sri Kapileswara Swamy Temple, Tirupati, concluded on Tuesday with the sacred Maha Poornahuti, performed in accordance with Agama traditions amidst Vedic chanting and a spiritually vibrant atmosphere.
The concluding rituals marked the successful completion of the annual purification festival, seeking divine blessings for the welfare of devotees and the uninterrupted conduct of temple rituals.
Sacred Rituals Performed
The final day's ceremonies included:
- Yagasala Puja
- Homam
- Maha Poornahuti
- Kalasodvasanam
- Kalasabhishekam to the presiding deity
- Offering of Silk Pavitrams
These rituals were conducted by temple priests following traditional Agama procedures.
Grand Pancha Murti Procession
In the evening, the Pancha Murtis were taken in a magnificent procession through the temple streets, blessing devotees.
The procession featured:
- Sri Somaskanda Murthy
- Sri Kamakshi Ammavaru
- Sri Vighneswara Swamy
- Sri Subrahmanya Swamy with Valli and Devasena
- Sri Chandikeswara Swamy
The colourful procession attracted a large number of devotees who participated with devotion and received the divine blessings.
Pavitra Malas Distributed to Devotees
Devotees who participated in the Pavitrotsavams were presented with Pavitra Malas and Theertha Prasadam as a mark of divine grace.
