Tirupati, July 5, 2026: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) commenced the annual Sri Sundararaja Swamy Avatara Mahotsavams with religious grandeur at Sri Sundararaja Swamy Temple, Tiruchanoor, on Sunday.
The annual festival is observed to commemorate the historic arrival of the Utsava idols of Sri Sundararaja Swamy from Madurai to Tiruchanoor, where they have been worshipped for centuries.
Sacred Rituals Performed
The celebrations began with a grand Abhishekam to Sri Sundararaja Swamy, performed using:

🥣 Curd
🍯 Honey
🥥 Coconut Water
🟡 Turmeric
🌿 Sandalwood
Following the sacred Abhishekam, Unjal Seva was performed amidst Vedic chanting and devotional fervour.
Pedda Sesha Vahana Seva
Later in the evening, Sri Sundararaja Swamy blessed devotees on the majestic Pedda Sesha Vahanam, which was taken in a grand procession through the four Mada Streets surrounding the temple.
The colourful procession attracted a large gathering of devotees.
Hanumantha Vahana Seva on Monday
As part of the three-day celebrations, Hanumantha Vahana Seva will be conducted on Monday night, continuing the traditional festivities.
