Tirumala, June 25, 2026: TTD Additional Executive Officer Sri Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary inspected the newly established Food and Water Analysis Laboratory in Tirumala and reviewed its first comprehensive analysis report, confirming that the modern laboratory is now fully operational.
He stated that devotees' health and safety remain TTD's highest priority, and the laboratory will play a crucial role in ensuring high standards of food and water quality across Tirumala.
Modern Laboratory Meets FSSAI Standards
The laboratory, inaugurated by Hon'ble Chief Minister Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu on March 21, 2026, completed all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within about two and a half months and has successfully generated its inaugural comprehensive testing report.
Developed in accordance with FSSAI standards, the laboratory features:

This modern infrastructure enables scientific monitoring of food and drinking water quality within Tirumala itself.

Approximately 40 food samples are collected daily from:

Around 20 water samples are collected every day from:

The testing helps ensure that food and drinking water supplied to devotees meet prescribed safety and quality standards.
Faster and More Accurate Testing
Earlier, certain microbiological water samples had to be sent to external laboratories for analysis.
With the establishment of the new microbiology section in Tirumala, all major food and water quality tests can now be carried out locally, ensuring:
