TTD Plans Full-Scale Electric Bus Operations for Srivari Brahmotsavams After Reliance Donates 25 E-Buses

Tirumala, July 7, 2026: Following the donation of 25 electric buses by Reliance Industries Limited, TTD Additional Executive Officer Sri Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary conducted a comprehensive review meeting with company representatives at the Sudharma Conference Hall in Padmavathi Rest House, Tirumala.

The meeting focused on preparing the required infrastructure to ensure the electric bus fleet becomes fully operational before the upcoming annual Srivari Brahmotsavams.

Infrastructure Development Planned

Officials reviewed several key aspects, including:

⚡ Establishment of modern charging stations

🔌 Adequate power supply

🚌 Bus parking facilities

👨‍✈️ Driver recruitment and training

📡 Passenger Information System

The Additional EO directed officials to complete all required infrastructure works on priority so that devotees can benefit from a modern and eco-friendly transport system.

Charging Station for 50 Buses

TTD plans to establish a high-capacity charging station capable of accommodating 50 electric buses.

Key features include:

🔋 Capacity for 50 buses

10 charging points

🚍 20 buses can be charged simultaneously

🔌 2 MW fast-charging infrastructure for quicker turnaround and uninterrupted operations.

Special Transport Plan for Devotees

To provide seamless transportation services during peak pilgrim seasons, the Additional EO instructed officials to:

👨‍✈️ Train 50 skilled drivers

🚌 Operate 25 buses in each shift

🚍 Deploy 50 buses across two shifts

⏱️ Ensure one bus is available every two minutes

This plan aims to significantly improve public transport within Tirumala, especially during major festivals.

Advanced Passenger Information System

TTD also directed that every electric bus should be equipped with an Advanced Passenger Information System (PIS).

The system will display:

📍 Upcoming bus stops

🚌 Route information

ℹ️ Passenger travel updates

making travel more convenient for pilgrims.
