Tirumala, June 18, 2026: In its continuous efforts to provide nutritious and high-quality Annaprasadam to lakhs of devotees, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) conducted a meeting with dal millers from different parts of Andhra Pradesh.

The meeting was chaired by TTD Additional Executive Officer Sri Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary, who reviewed the procurement process and discussed ways to ensure consistent quality and transparent supply of pulses used in Annaprasadam preparation.

Focus on Quality and Quantity

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding:

✅ Quantity requirements

✅ Transparent procurement methods

✅ Long-term supply mechanisms

The Additional EO emphasized that TTD is committed to maintaining the highest standards in Annaprasadam preparation without compromising on quality.

Seven Varieties of Dals Used Daily

TTD currently utilizes seven varieties of pulses every day in the preparation of Annaprasadam.

These include:

🌾 Bengal Gram

🌾 Fried Bengal Gram

🌾 Black Gram (Without Husk)

🌾 Black Gram (With Husk)

🌾 Thoor Dal

🌾 Green Gram

🌾 Groundnuts

These ingredients form an essential part of the meals served daily to devotees in Tirumala.

Rice Quality Model to Be Replicated

Sri Venkaiah Chowdary stated that TTD successfully improved rice quality over the last few years through direct procurement from rice millers' associations.

He expressed confidence that a similar model could be adopted for dal procurement to ensure superior quality ingredients for Annaprasadam.

“We improved rice quality without compromise. We expect the same quality and consistency in dal supplies as well,” he noted.

Positive Response from Dal Millers

Representatives of Andhra Pradesh Dal Millers responded positively and expressed their willingness to participate in TTD's divine service mission.

They assured support in supplying quality products for Annaprasadam, which benefits millions of pilgrims visiting Tirumala every year.

Transparent Procurement System Planned

The Additional EO directed officials to explore mechanisms for transparent procurement directly from millers.

The proposed system aims to:
