KEY DECISIONS OF TTD BOARD MEETING ON MAY 6, 2026: Major Infrastructure, Temple Development, Education, and Welfare Approvals

Tirumala, May 06, 2026: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Board meeting was held on Wednesday at Annamayya Bhavan in Tirumala under the chairmanship of TTD Chairman Sri B.R. Naidu. The board approved a wide range of decisions covering temple development, pilgrim amenities, education, medical support, employee welfare, and new spiritual initiatives.

Important decisions

  • Financial assistance for Dhupa, Deepa, Naivedyam in temples increased from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 10,000.

  • The “Akshara Govindam” programme will be launched soon.

  • permanent Yagasala will be constructed at Alipiri.

  • Education and medical services will be expanded further.

  • Additional toilets will be constructed in the Srivari Sarvadarshan queue lines at a cost of Rs. 4.55 crore.

  • Roads and circles in Tirumala will be named with spiritual and mythological significance.

  • Rs. 43.40 crore was approved for modern infrastructure in TTD educational institutions, taking the total allocation to Rs. 161.40 crore.

  • Rs. 6 crore was approved for a new water pipeline from Gogarbham Dam to the Filter Plant.

  • Silk items and blankets worth Rs. 44.20 crore will be purchased from APCO and Co-optex.

  • Rs. 55 lakh was sanctioned for a Shiva temple in Vardhanapalli village, Alluri Sitarama Raju district.

  • Free kits will be distributed to children under Akshara Govindam.

  • 19.43 acres of donated land in Coimbatore district will be merged into TTD.

  • Steps will be taken to appoint staff for the newly built Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Navi Mumbai.

  • TTD Board member Sri Saurabh Bora will bear the expenses for construction of Sri Padmavathi Ammavari temple in Mumbai.

  • Development works worth Rs. 3.61 crore were approved for Varahaswamy Rest House–1 in Tirumala.

  • Yagasala construction at Alipiri for Srinivasa Divyanugraha Homam was approved at Rs. 4.75 crore.

  • Padma Shri awardee Dr. Shobha Raju was appointed as TTD Asthana Vidwan.

  • Rajagopuram construction at Ananthavaram temple was approved at Rs. 2.71 crore.

  • Major temple development works worth Rs. 36.95 crore were approved at Venkatapalem, Amaravati.

  • A proposal was approved to construct a centralized administrative building in Tirumala.

  • Kalyana Mandapam will be constructed at Lepakshi.

  • A committee will be formed for the donor privileges policy.

  • Srivari temple will be constructed in Khammam on 20 acres allotted by the Telangana Government.

  • Darshan and laddu facility will be extended to contract and outsourcing employees.

  • An additional Rs. 2 lakh reimbursement was approved under the employee health scheme, taking the total to Rs. 5 lakh.

  • Permanent shelters for bus checks at Alipiri will be created to ease traffic congestion.

  • Free hearing aids will be provided to 150 hearing-impaired children under the Sravanam project.

The meeting was attended by TTD EO Sri M. Ravichandra, Additional EO Sri Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary, JEO Sri V. Veerabrahmam, CVSO Sri K.V. Muralikrishna, board members, and other officials.
