Tirumala, June 18, 2026: The annual Special Sahasra Kalasabhishekam will be observed at the Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple on June 24, 2026.
The sacred ritual is performed every year in the month of Jyeshta to commemorate the historic donation of the silver idol of Sri Bhoga Srinivasa Murthy by the renowned Pallava Queen Samavai Perundevi several centuries ago.
The special ceremony will be conducted in Ekantam between 6 AM and 8 AM.
Historical Significance of the Festival
The Special Sahasra Kalasabhishekam occupies a unique place in Tirumala temple traditions.
According to temple history, Pallava Queen Samavai Perundevi donated the silver idol of Bhoga Srinivasa Murthy to the temple. Since then, this special ritual has been observed annually in remembrance of her contribution and devotion to Lord Venkateswara.

Bhoga Srinivasa Murthy is regarded as the Koutuka Beram of Lord Venkateswara and is also popularly known as Manavala Perumal.
