Tirupati, June 16, 2026: The annual Sri Periyalwar Utsavam commenced with religious grandeur on Tuesday at the Sri Lakshmi Narayana Swamy Temple, attached to the Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple in Tirupati.
The ten-day festival will continue until June 25, drawing devotees and Vaishnavite scholars from different regions.
Divine Recitation of Divya Prabandham
On the inaugural day, HH Pedda Jeeyar Swamy and HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, along with their disciples, rendered sacred Divya Prabandham Pasurams before Sri Periyalwar.
The devotional recitations filled the temple premises with spiritual fervour and devotion, creating a serene atmosphere for devotees.
Importance of Sri Periyalwar
Sri Periyalwar is one of the most revered Alwars in the Sri Vaishnava tradition and is celebrated for his unwavering devotion to Lord Mahavishnu.
He is also revered as the father of Sri Andal, one of the most beloved saints of the Bhakti movement.
His devotional compositions continue to inspire millions of devotees across the country.

The concluding day of the festival on June 25 will feature special religious ceremonies.
