Tirupati, July 26, 2026: The annual Pushpayagam of Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy Temple, Appalayagunta, will be celebrated with great religious fervour on July 30.
Pushpayagam is one of the temple's most sacred annual rituals, performed after the Brahmotsavams as a Prayaschitta (atonement ritual) for any inadvertent omissions in the daily worship and festival ceremonies. The ritual is also conducted to invoke divine blessings for universal peace, prosperity, and the welfare of devotees.
Ankurarpanam on July 29
The festivities will commence on July 29 with:
- Medhini Puja
- Senadhipathi Utsavam
- Ankurarpanam
These rituals will be performed from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, formally marking the beginning of the Pushpayagam celebrations.
Special Rituals on July 30
On the festival day, the following programmes are scheduled:
Morning
- 8:30 AM – 11:00 AM: Vedic rituals in the Yagasala
Snapana Tirumanjanam
From 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, Snapana Tirumanjanam will be performed to the Utsava Murthies of Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy along with Sri Devi and Bhu Devi using sacred offerings including:
- Milk
- Curd
- Honey
- Turmeric
- Sandalwood paste
- Coconut water
Grand Pushpayagam
The highlight of the festival, Pushpayagam, will be held from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
The deities will be adorned with thousands of fragrant flowers, including:
- Tulasi
- Chrysanthemum
- Oleander
- Mogali
- Jasmine
- Sampangi
- Rose
- Lotus
The divine floral offering creates a spiritually uplifting atmosphere for devotees.
Veedhi Utsavam
Following the Pushpayagam, the Veedhi Utsavam will take place from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, allowing devotees to receive the blessings of the Lord during the grand procession through the temple streets.
