Tirupati / Nandalur, July 28, 2026: The annual Sri Soumyanatha Swamy Brahmotsavams at Nandalur reached another spiritually significant milestone with the grand Kalyanotsavam of Sri Soumyanatha Swamy with Sridevi and Bhudevi on Tuesday morning, the seventh day of the festival.
The sacred celestial wedding, performed for the peace, prosperity, and welfare of the world, was conducted amidst Vedic chanting and an atmosphere filled with devotion, drawing a large gathering of devotees.
Agama Rituals Performed
At 10:00 AM, the Utsava Murthis were ceremoniously brought to the Kalyana Mandapam accompanied by traditional temple music.
Temple priests then performed the Kalyanotsavam in accordance with Agama traditions, which included:
- Vishvaksena Aradhana
- Punyahavachanam
- Kankana Dharana
- Agni Pratishtha
- Yajamana Sankalpam
- Bhakta Sankalpam
- Maha Sankalpam
- Mangalasutra Dharana
Each ritual was performed amidst the recitation of sacred Vedic hymns.
Devotees Receive Divine Blessings
The celestial wedding concluded with Nakshatra Harati and Mangala Harati.
Devotees who witnessed the sacred event filled the temple premises with chants of "Govinda... Govinda..." and received the blessings of Sri Soumyanatha Swamy, Sridevi, and Bhudevi.
