Tirumala, June 23, 2026: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will celebrate the Srivari Salakatla Jyeshtabhishekam from June 26 to June 28 at the Srivari Temple in Tirumala.
Observed every year during the sacred Jyeshta Masam, this three-day ritual concludes on Jyeshta Nakshatra and is one of the most important annual festivals dedicated to Sri Malayappa Swamy.
The ritual is also popularly known as Abhidhyeyaka Abhishekam.
Where the Ritual is Performed
The sacred ceremonies will take place at the Kalyana Mandapam located in the Sampangi Prakaram of the Tirumala temple.
Priests perform Vedic rituals, homams, abhishekams and Panchamrutha Snapana Tirumanjanam with great devotion during the festival.
Spiritual Significance
Jyeshtabhishekam is performed to protect the ancient ceremonial idols of Sri Malayappa Swamy, Sridevi and Bhudevi from wear and tear caused by the numerous sacred abhishekams conducted throughout the year.
The ritual symbolizes preservation of the divine idols while reaffirming centuries-old temple traditions.
Three-Day Armour Tradition
📅 Day One – June 26

After homams, abhishekams and Panchamrutha Snapana Tirumanjanam, the Lord is adorned with the magnificent Diamond Armour (Vajra Kavacham).

Following another sacred abhishekam, the processional deity is decorated with the beautiful Pearl Armour (Muthyapu Kavacham).
📅 Day Three – June 28
