Tirupati, August 26, 2026: The three-day Pavithrotsavams of Sri Venkateswara Swamy along with Sri Devi and Bhu Devi at Tondamanpuram began in a grand and devotional manner on Wednesday.
Pavitra Pratishtha Performed as per Agama Traditions
The rituals began in the morning with Suprabhatam, followed by Thomala Seva and Sahasranamarchana.
The processional deities of Sri Venkateswara Swamy along with Sri Devi and Bhu Devi were then taken to the Yagashala, where special Vedic rituals were performed.
Subsequently, Chatushtarchana and Pavitra Pratishtha were performed by the temple priests as per Agama traditions.
Special Vedic rituals will be conducted at the Yagashala from 5:30 PM to 7:45 PM.
Pavithrotsavams to Preserve Temple Sanctity
Pavithrotsavams are conducted every year for three days to atone for inadvertent lapses that may occur during temple rituals through pilgrims or staff and to preserve the sanctity and spiritual purity of the temple.
As part of the festival, sacred Pavitra Malas are offered to the deity and special rituals are performed according to Agama traditions.
Temple Deputy EO Smt. Nagarathna, Temple Inspector Sri Sudheer, temple priests and a large number of devotees participated in the rituals.
