Tirumala, June 10, 2026: The Nitya Annaprasadam Programme of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) continues to stand as one of the largest free meal service initiatives in the world, serving lakhs of devotees visiting the sacred abode of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy every day.

Often described as a modern-day "Akshaya Patra", the programme has emerged as a remarkable blend of spirituality, service, tradition, and modern technology, ensuring that every devotee visiting Tirumala receives a nutritious meal completely free of cost.

A Journey That Began with 2,000 Servings

The Annaprasadam programme was launched on April 6, 1985, with just 2,000 meal servings per day.

Over the past four decades, it has grown into a massive humanitarian service programme.

Today:

🍛 Nearly 3 lakh devotees are served daily during weekends, holidays, and peak seasons.

🍛 Around 1.8 to 1.9 lakh devotees receive meals on regular days.

This remarkable growth reflects the increasing number of pilgrims visiting Tirumala and TTD's commitment to ensuring that no devotee leaves hungry.

More Than 44 Million Servings in Just Five Months

The Annaprasadam programme achieved a major milestone in 2026.

Between January 1 and May 31, 2026, TTD distributed over 44 million servings of meals, breakfast, beverages, and refreshments through various Annaprasadam centres across Tirumala.

To support these operations, nearly 9,600 litres of milk are consumed every day for milk distribution and beverage preparation.

The Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annaprasadam Complex remains the primary centre for Annaprasadam distribution.

🌿 Coriander Seeds – 209 kg
