TTD Reviews Vegetable Supply for Srivari Annaprasadam Ahead of Brahmotsavams

Tirumala, August 18, 2026: TTD Additional EO Sri Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary appreciated the contribution of vegetable donors as vital to the Srivari Annaprasadam programme, which provides free food to devotees at Tirumala.

A review meeting ahead of the upcoming Srivari Brahmotsavams was held at Sudharma Hall in Tirumala on Tuesday evening to discuss vegetable supply, transportation, storage, quality and future requirements.

Vegetable Consumption Rises to 8.44 Tonnes Daily

The meeting noted that vegetable consumption for Srivari Annaprasadam has increased significantly.

Vegetable usage has risen from around 5.34 tonnes per day three years ago to 8.44 tonnes per day at present, with TTD serving more than 4 lakh portions of Annaprasadam every day on average.

30 Donors Supplying 33 Types of Vegetables

The Additional EO appreciated around 30 donors from three to four states who have been supplying vegetables to TTD for the past 25 to 30 years.

These donors collectively supply around 33 types of vegetables, making their contribution an important part of the Annaprasadam service.

Advance Planning to Reduce Spoilage

TTD coordinates with vegetable donors through advance planning to reduce rejection and wastage.

The donors maintain prescribed standards relating to vegetable quality, packing and transportation, helping ensure that vegetables reach Tirumala in suitable condition.

Cold Storage for Vegetable Preservation

The meeting discussed the use of cold storage facilities to preserve vegetables that have a longer shelf life.

Perishable vegetables will be prioritised for early utilisation to minimise spoilage and ensure efficient management of supplies.

Online Coordination System Planned

TTD will formulate a dedicated donor policy and develop an online real-time coordination system to communicate vegetable requirements and speed up responses.

The initiative is also expected to encourage more donors to participate in the Srivari Annaprasadam programme.

Deputy EO Annaprasadam Sri Rajendra, Catering Officer Sri GLN Shastry, vegetable donors from various states and other officials participated in the meeting.
