Tirupati, 21 April 2026 – The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is organising a three‑day Avatar celebration of Bhagavad Sri Ramanujacharya at the Annamacharya Kalamandiram in Tirupati from 20 to 22 April 2026, under the auspices of the Alwar Divya Prabandha Project. The event aims to highlight the life, teachings, and services of the 11th‑century Vaishnava Acharya to Lord Sri Venkateswara and the Tirumala temple.

Programme schedule (20–22 April)

  • Inaugural evening, 20 April:

    • The celebrations commence at 5.30 PM with Mangalasasanams by Tirumala Pedda Jeeyar Swamy and Chinna Jeeyar Swamy.

    • Followed by a discourse titled “Sri Ramanujacharya Vaibhavam”, presenting the greatness and impact of his philosophy, and a devotional music programme in the evening sessions.

  • 21 April:

    • Discourse on “Sri Ramanujacharya – Tirumala Kainkaryam”, focusing on his historical role in establishing and streamlining rituals and services at the Tirumala temple.

    • Followed by a Harikatha (narrative‑devotional story‑session) to narrate key episodes from his life and Seva.

  • 22 April (concluding day):

    • Discourse on “Sri Ramanujacharya – Granthas”, exploring his major philosophical and scriptural works like Gadya Trayam, Vedanta texts, and commentaries that shaped Sri Vaishnavism.

    • The day ends with another devotional music concert, offering a musically rich, spiritually uplifting closure to the celebrations.

Daily format, arrangements, and significance

  • The three‑day programme runs every evening from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM with literary discourses and devotional concerts, combining scholarship, narrative, and music. TTD officials have announced that all facilities, seating, audio‑visuals, and infrastructure have been arranged to ensure smooth participation for devotees and scholars.

  • These Ramanujacharya Avatara Mahotsavams are an annual religious and cultural tradition of TTD, held in Annamacharya Kalamandiram and other cities across Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, to commemorate the incarnation of the Acharya and his immense contribution to Tirumala’s seva and theology.
