Tirumala, July 17, 2026: The annual Anivara Asthanam was celebrated with great religious fervour at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala on Friday.
The sacred ceremony was attended by HH Pedda Jeeyar Swamy, HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, and TTD Executive Officer Sri Muddada Ravichandra, along with temple officials and dignitaries.
Spiritual Significance of Anivara Asthanam
Anivara Asthanam is observed every year on Karkataka Sankranti, marking the commencement of Dakshinayana, the sun's southward journey according to the Hindu calendar.
Traditionally, the ceremony also signifies the beginning of the temple's annual financial accounts. Although TTD now follows the April–March financial year, the centuries-old custom continues to be observed with deep devotion and reverence.
Pushpa Pallaki Seva
As part of the celebrations, Sri Malayappa Swamy along with Sri Devi and Bhu Devi will bless devotees during the Pushpa Pallaki procession through the four Mada Streets surrounding the temple on Friday evening.
