Tirupati, July 30, 2026: The annual Pushpayagam was celebrated with great devotion and spiritual grandeur at the Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy Temple, Appalayagunta, on Thursday.
The sacred ritual was conducted according to Agama traditions as a Prayaschitta (atonement) for any inadvertent omissions that may have occurred during the temple's annual Brahmotsavams, held from June 25 to July 3, in the conduct of daily worship and festival rituals.
Snapana Tirumanjanam to the Utsava Deities
The day's celebrations began with Snapana Tirumanjanam to Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy, accompanied by Sri Devi and Bhu Devi, between 11:00 AM and 12:00 Noon.
The sacred ceremonial bath was performed using:
- 🥛 Milk
- 🥣 Curd
- 🍯 Honey
- 🌿 Sandalwood paste
- 🥥 Tender coconut water
Before the Pushpayagam commenced, the flowers were specially worshipped before the presiding deity and then carried in a ceremonial procession around the temple. The Utsava deities were later seated on the Sarvabhupala Vahanam at a specially arranged venue inside the temple.
2.5 Tonnes of Flowers Offered
From 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the Pushpayagam was performed amid Vedic chanting and traditional temple music.
Approximately 2.5 tonnes of flowers were offered to the Lord, including 18 varieties of flowers such as:
- 🌿 Tulasi
- 🌼 Chrysanthemum
- 🌸 Oleander
- 🌺 Mogali
- 🌼 Sampangi
- 🌹 Rose
- 🪷 Lotus
Along with these, six varieties of sacred leaves were also offered as part of the ritual.
The vibrant floral offerings transformed the temple into a divine spectacle, filling devotees with devotion and spiritual bliss.
Veedhi Utsavam Concludes the Celebrations
The annual Pushpayagam concluded with the Veedhi Utsavam, during which the Lord blessed devotees in a ceremonial procession.
