Tirupati, September 8, 2026: The annual Pavitrotsavams at Sri Venugopalaswamy Temple in Karvetinagaram concluded ceremonially on Tuesday night with the performance of Poornahuti in the Yagashala.
The concluding rituals were performed according to traditional Vedic and Agama procedures in the presence of temple priests and a large number of devotees.
Morning Rituals
The day's rituals began at 5 AM with Suprabhatam, waking up the presiding deity. This was followed by Thomala Seva and Sahasranamarchana.
Later, amid Vedic chanting and traditional Mangala Vadyams, sacred Pavitra Malas were offered to:
- The presiding deities
- Utsava Murtis
- Garuda Alwar
- Parivara Devatas
The sacred Pavitra Malas were offered as part of the concluding rituals of the Pavitrotsavams.
Procession and Poornahuti
In the evening, the Tiruveedhi Utsavam was conducted at around 5:30 PM.
Subsequently, Vedic rituals were performed in the Yagashala, culminating in Poornahuti, marking the formal conclusion of the Pavitrotsavams.
Devotees Participate in the Sacred Festival
Temple priests and a large number of devotees participated in the concluding celebrations.
Temple Superintendent Sri Srinivasulu Reddy and Temple Inspector Sri Veeraswamy, along with temple priests and devotees, participated in the programme.
The Pavitrotsavams concluded with the traditional rituals, prayers and Vedic ceremonies at the Karvetinagaram Sri Venugopalaswamy Temple.
