Tirumala, July 29, 2026: The sacred Chaturmasa Deeksha Sankalpam of Sri Sri Sri Pedda Jeeyangar Swamy commenced on Wednesday at Tirumala with Kalasa Sthapana and other Agama rituals performed at the Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swami Mutt.
The commencement of the four-month spiritual observance was marked by traditional Vedic rituals and devotional ceremonies, attracting devotees and temple dignitaries.
Traditional Procession and Temple Rituals
Following the initial rituals, the Jeeyangars proceeded in a ceremonial procession and first offered prayers at the sacred Swami Pushkarini and Sri Varahaswamy Temple.
They were then ceremonially welcomed at the Mahadwaram of the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple by TTD Executive Officer Sri Muddada Ravichandra.
After receiving the darshan of Lord Venkateswara and completing the prescribed temple rituals, the customary honours were bestowed upon the Jeeyangars.
Temple Honours Presented
As part of the traditional honours:
- Sri Pedda Jeeyangar Swamy was presented with the Melchat Vastram.
- Sri Chinna Jeeyangar Swamy received the Noolchat Vastram.
These honours signify the esteemed role of the Jeeyangars in preserving and propagating the Sri Vaishnava traditions at Tirumala.
