Tirumala, July 19, 2026: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will celebrate the annual Pallavotsavam on July 22, 2026, commemorating the birth star of the erstwhile Maharaja of Mysore.
The festival is one of the historic traditions of Tirumala and has been observed continuously for nearly 300 years.
Procession of Sri Malayappa Swamy
Following the Sahasra Deepalankara Seva, Sri Malayappa Swamy, accompanied by Sri Devi and Bhu Devi, will be taken in a ceremonial procession to the Karnataka Choultries.
Representatives of the Government of Karnataka and members of the Mysore Royal Family will offer special Harathi to the deities during the festival.
Centuries-Old Spiritual Tradition
The Pallavotsavam commemorates the devotion of the former Mysore Maharaja, who established several enduring traditions at Tirumala.
Among them is the daily offering of Navaneetha Harathi and the donation of five kilograms of ghee every day for lighting the Brahma Deepa and Maharaja Deepa before the Suprabhatam Seva.
TTD stated that this sacred practice continues uninterrupted even today, reflecting the enduring spiritual bond between the Mysore Royal Family and the Tirumala temple.
Devotees visiting Tirumala on July 22 will have the opportunity to witness this unique festival that blends royal heritage with centuries-old temple traditions.
