Tirumala, August 14, 2026: TTD Additional EO Sri Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary emphasised the importance of maintaining high standards of cleanliness ahead of the upcoming Tirumala Brahmotsavams and reviewed sanitation plans with officials and agencies on Friday.
The review meeting was held at the Sudharma Conference Hall in Tirumala, where officials discussed improving quality standards, procuring required materials and adopting modern equipment and technology to maintain the sanctity and cleanliness of the hill shrine.
Nandakam App for Real-Time Sanitation Monitoring
To strengthen field-level monitoring, TTD is considering the introduction of a complaint-management app named “Nandakam.”
The proposed app will facilitate real-time reporting of sanitation issues, automatic escalation to responsible staff and tracking of the progress of complaints until resolution.
Officials have been directed to roll out the Nandakam app next month.
Cleanliness to Be Strengthened Across Tirumala
The sanitation drive will cover key pilgrim areas, including ghat roads, Srivari steps, the Alipiri footpath and surrounding areas.
The Additional EO also appreciated the participation of volunteer groups, including “Mana Ooru – Mana Gudi,” and welcomed their continued support beyond the temple premises.
He noted that such community-led initiatives are already contributing to improved pilgrim feedback on cleanliness.
Pilgrims Urged to Share Responsibility
The Additional EO appealed to every pilgrim to contribute towards maintaining Tirumala’s cleanliness and sanctity.
He urged devotees not to throw waste from vehicles or use single-use plastics within the shrine area and called for cooperation with sanitation personnel working continuously to keep the hill town clean.
The meeting was attended by Deputy EO Health Sri Somannarayana, sanitation department officials, agency representatives and other officers.
