TTD Warns Against Smoking and Intoxicant Use on Alipiri Walking Path

Tirumala, August 16, 2026: TTD has received information that an individual was found smoking on the Alipiri walking path, in violation of TTD regulations.

TTD said a complaint will be filed with the police against the individual and appropriate legal action will be pursued.

Smoking and Intoxicants Strictly Prohibited

As per TTD regulations, consumption of alcohol, smoking, use of intoxicating substances and Gutka are strictly prohibited within Tirumala, Alipiri, Srivari Mettu and other areas under TTD jurisdiction.

TTD reiterated that such regulations are intended to maintain the sanctity and spiritual atmosphere of the pilgrimage areas.

Action Against Those Violating TTD Rules

TTD stated that despite the regulations, smoking on the walking path is disrespectful and affects the sentiments of devotees.

The organisation has reiterated that strict legal action will be taken against persons violating TTD regulations.

TTD also warned that if any security personnel are found negligent in carrying out inspections, they will be subject to disciplinary action.
