Tirupati, July 22, 2026: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will celebrate the sacred Tulasi Mahatyam Utsavam at the Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple, Tirupati, on July 26 with traditional religious grandeur.
The festival is observed every year on Sravana Sukla Dwadasi, commemorating the divine appearance of Tulasi Devi, who is revered as the most beloved devotee of Lord Srimannarayana.
Sri Govindaraja Swamy on Garuda Vahanam
As part of the celebrations, Sri Govindaraja Swamy will bless devotees on the Garuda Vahanam from 4:30 AM to 6:30 AM.
The majestic procession will pass through the four Mada Streets, allowing devotees to have the divine darshan of the Lord during the early hours of the day.
Asthanam and Tulasi Mahatyam Purana
Following the procession, a special Asthanam will be held from 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM.
During the programme, temple priests will recite the Tulasi Mahatyam Purana and explain the spiritual significance of Tulasi Devi, highlighting her unique place in Vaishnavite tradition and her eternal association with Lord Vishnu.
Theertha Prasadam Distribution
After the completion of the rituals, Theertha Prasadam will be distributed to devotees participating in the festival.
TTD has invited devotees to attend the sacred celebrations and seek the divine blessings of Sri Govindaraja Swamy during this auspicious occasion.
