Tirupati, August 25, 2026: The sacred Ankurarpanam ritual for the annual three-day Pavithrotsavams was performed ceremoniously on Tuesday evening at 6 PM at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple along with Sridevi and Bhudevi in Thondamanpuram.
Pavitra Pratistha on August 26
As part of the festival schedule, Pavitra Pratistha will be performed on the morning of August 26, followed by Vedic rituals at the Yagasala in the evening.
On August 27, Pavitra Samarpana will be performed in the morning, followed by Chatushtanarchana in the evening.
Pavithrotsavams to Conclude on August 28
The celebrations will conclude on August 28 with Maha Purnahuti, Pavitra Vitarana, Snapana Tirumanjanam and Chakra Snanam in the morning.
A Gramotsavam will be held in the evening as part of the concluding celebrations.
Significance of Pavithrotsavams
The annual Pavithrotsavams are conducted every year in accordance with Agama scriptures.
The rituals are intended to rectify any inadvertent lapses or errors that may have occurred during temple rituals or through the actions of pilgrims and staff, thereby helping to preserve the sanctity and purity of the temple.
Superintendent Sri Gnana Prakash, Temple Inspector Sri Anil and temple priests participated in the Ankurarpanam ceremony.
