Tirupati, July 25, 2026: The Kavacha Pratishtha Mahotsavam was celebrated with religious grandeur on Saturday, the second day of the annual Jyeshtabhishekam at Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple, Tirupati.
The ceremonies were conducted amidst Vedic chanting, Mangala Vadyams, and elaborate Agama rituals, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere.
Morning Rituals Performed
The day's rituals commenced with:
- Shata Kalasa Snapanam
- Maha Shanthi Homam
Later, Snapana Tirumanjanam was performed to the processional deities of Sri Govindaraja Swamy along with Sridevi and Bhudevi in the temple's Kalyana Mandapam.
The deities were ceremonially bathed with:
- Milk
- Curd
- Honey
- Coconut Water
- Turmeric
- Sandalwood
Following the sacred bath, special worship and the Kavacha Pratishtha Mahotsavam were performed in a grand manner.
Tiruchi Procession Delights Devotees
In the evening, Sri Govindaraja Swamy, accompanied by Sridevi and Bhudevi, was taken in a magnificent Tiruchi Procession through the four Mada Streets surrounding the temple.
Thousands of devotees had the divine darshan of the Lord and joyfully chanted "Govinda... Govinda...", filling the temple town with devotion and spiritual fervour.
