Tirupati, August 15, 2026: The horse, canine and fire safety demonstrations organised during the 80th Independence Day celebrations at the TTD Administrative Building in Tirupati on Saturday were a major attraction.
The demonstrations showcased the skills of NCC cadets, TTD Vigilance and Security personnel and fire safety teams, creating awareness among those attending the celebrations.
NCC Cadets Showcase Equestrian Skills
Under the guidance of Colonel Anoop Menon, NCC cadets performed impressive equestrian stunts with six horses – Good Luck, Roman Flame, Gagan, Rani, Tej and Glory.
The cadets first displayed the National Flag, NCC Flag and TTD Flag, followed by demonstrations of tent pegging, show jumping and Indian file.
Their well-coordinated performances on horseback around the parade ground were widely appreciated by those present.
TTD Canine Squad Impresses with Special Demonstrations
The TTD Vigilance and Security wing presented an impressive canine demonstration featuring Virat, Beauty, Faini, Rani, Siri, Jyola and Bindu.
The trained dogs demonstrated a range of specialised skills, including presenting a bouquet and guard of honour to TTD Chairman Sri B.R. Naidu, group drill, detection of explosives and narcotics, silent drill and fire jump.
They also demonstrated skills related to protection of articles and identification and interception of fleeing suspects.
Firefighters Create Awareness on Fire Safety
Under the guidance of ADFO Sri Anil Kumar, TTD fire personnel conducted demonstrations highlighting fire prevention and safety measures.
They explained methods to control fires caused by solid, liquid and gas fuels, along with precautions to be followed in the event of a cooking-gas cylinder fire at home.
The firefighters also demonstrated the proper use of fire-fighting equipment and explained important safety measures to prevent fire-related accidents.
National Flag Display Highlights Celebrations
The unveiling of a colourful National Flag, symbolising national unity and patriotism, was another major highlight of the Independence Day celebrations.
