Tirupati, July 17, 2026: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has issued an official clarification regarding the Friday Snapana Tirumanjanam performed every week at the Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple in Tiruchanoor.
TTD stated that every Friday at 3:00 PM, the Utsava Murthis of Goddess Padmavathi are taken from the main temple to the nearby Friday Garden for the sacred Snapana Tirumanjanam Abhishekam.
Traditional Procedure Followed
Along with the puja materials, an empty wooden box is also taken to the Friday Garden as part of the long-standing temple tradition.
Before the abhishekam begins, the gold ornaments adorning the Utsava Murthis are carefully removed and safely placed inside the wooden box.
After the sacred ritual is completed, the ornaments are ceremonially adorned back on the deity, and the empty wooden box is returned to the main temple along with the Utsava Murthis.
TTD clarified that the wooden box remains empty while being transported to and from the Friday Garden, and therefore no special security arrangement is required during its movement.
False Reports Misleading Devotees
TTD expressed concern that certain reports had published information completely contrary to the established temple tradition.
The temple administration stated that such false and misleading reports hurt the sentiments of devotees and damage the reputation of TTD, urging the public to rely only on official information.
