Tirumala, July 25, 2026: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has issued an official clarification regarding videos and social media posts showing temporarily white-coloured water flowing from taps at the Sri Japali Anjaneya Swamy Temple in Tirumala.
TTD officials explained that the phenomenon is purely physical and not related to water contamination or pollution.
Why Does the Water Appear White?
According to TTD officials, when water is released under high pressure, it contains microscopic air bubbles.
These tiny air bubbles temporarily make the water appear cloudy or white. As the bubbles quickly escape, the water naturally returns to its normal crystal-clear appearance within a few seconds, as demonstrated in the recorded videos.
Experts clarified that this is a natural aeration effect and should not be mistaken for contamination.
Laboratory Tests Confirm Water Safety
To verify the quality of the water, samples were collected and examined at the TTD Food and Water Analysis Laboratory.
The laboratory confirmed that:
- ✅ The water is clean and safe for use.
- ✅ No foul odour was detected.
- ✅ No sediment was found.
- ✅ No visible impurities were observed.
The analysis confirmed that the temporary white appearance is not a sign of poor water quality.
TTD Appeals to Devotees
TTD has appealed to devotees and the general public not to believe, share, or amplify unverified information on social media.
The temple administration assured devotees that there is absolutely no cause for concern regarding the quality and safety of the water supplied at the Sri Japali Anjaneya Swamy Temple.
