Tirupati, August 15, 2026: TTD Chairman Sri B.R. Naidu said that serving devotees visiting Tirumala from across the world is the primary mission of TTD, while the preservation of Sanatana Dharma is its foremost commitment.
He said TTD is working to take the glory of Lord Venkateswara across the world, while giving priority to education, healthcare and religious services.
The 80th Independence Day celebrations were held grandly at the Parade Ground of the TTD Administrative Building in Tirupati on Saturday. TTD Chairman Sri B.R. Naidu hoisted the National Flag and received the guard of honour from the security personnel. TTD Executive Officer Sri Muddada Ravichandra was present.
“Service to Humanity Is Service to God”
Addressing the gathering, the Chairman extended Independence Day greetings to priests, TTD Board members, officials, employees, security personnel, retired employees, Srivari Sevaks, media representatives and devotees from India and abroad.
He said the nation remembers the sacrifices of freedom fighters on this historic day and stressed the ideal of “Service to humanity is service to God.”
He assured that TTD would continue its dedicated efforts to provide better services to devotees and protect Sanatana Dharma.
Major TTD Initiatives Highlighted by the Chairman
Srivari Brahmotsavams
The annual Srivari Brahmotsavams will be held from September 15 to 23, while the Navaratri Brahmotsavams will be conducted from October 12 to 20.
TTD will make comprehensive arrangements to ensure that devotees have smooth Darshan and an opportunity to witness the Vahana Sevas. Traditional cultural programmes from across the country will also be organised on a grand scale.
Rs.120 Crore Modern Annaprasadam Kitchen
A new modern Annaprasadam kitchen at a cost of Rs.120 crore is being planned with donor support.
The facility will help provide hygienic and quality food to lakhs of devotees visiting Tirumala.
32 Additional Electric Buses
To promote Tirumala as an eco-friendly spiritual destination, TTD will introduce 32 additional electric buses with donor support, in addition to the existing 12 electric buses.
SV Museum to Showcase Lord Venkateswara's Glory
The Tirumala SV Museum, developed at a cost of Rs.145 crore with donor support, will soon showcase the services, festivals and rare jewellery associated with Lord Venkateswara.
The museum will feature advanced 3D and 7D presentations.
Special Focus on Vontimitta Development
TTD is giving special attention to the development of Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple at Vontimitta.
The development works include pilgrim amenities, accommodation facilities, electrical decorations and land acquisition.
Srivari Temples Across the Country
TTD is accelerating the construction of Srivari temples in Coimbatore, Guwahati, Khammam, Belagavi, Mumbai and Bihar.
The Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Amaravati is also being developed at a cost of Rs.140 crore, with facilities including a Mahagopuram, Pushkarini and Vahana Mandapam.
Development of Local TTD Temples
TTD is taking steps to improve facilities at Tiruchanur, Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple, Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple and other TTD temples.
Financial Support to Temples Increased
Financial assistance for Dhoopa, Deepa and Naivedyam at eligible temples across Andhra Pradesh has been increased from Rs.5,000 to Rs.10,000, in accordance with government guidelines.
Transparent Donor Services
TTD is implementing a transparent and unified privilege system for donors contributing to its trusts and schemes.
The Chairman thanked donors who have contributed more than Rs.1,500 crore to various TTD trusts over the past two years.
Strengthening Srivari Seva and Medical Services
An action plan has been prepared to strengthen Srivari Seva at 64 local and affiliated TTD temples.
TTD is also expanding Srivari medical services in its hospitals to benefit more patients.
Education to Be Developed as World-Class Institutions
TTD is developing its educational institutions as world-class centres at a cost of Rs.161.40 crore, with modern infrastructure and quality education.
The institutions will also emphasise Indian culture, moral values and discipline.
Recently, 147 meritorious Class X and Intermediate students were honoured with Pratibha Puraskarams.
Healthcare Facilities to Be Strengthened
TTD is strengthening medical facilities at SVIMS, BIRRD and other hospitals in Tirupati.
The Sri Padmavati Super Speciality Hospital for children will soon provide world-class healthcare facilities.
Recruitment has also been undertaken in various departments of SVIMS to improve patient care.
Dharma Pracharam and Preservation of Vedic Traditions
Through various religious projects and Veda-Bhakti programmes, TTD is promoting Sanatana Dharma and spiritual values among future generations.
TTD is supporting 791 Vedic scholars under the Veda Parayanam scheme and encouraging daily Vedic recitations in temples across Andhra Pradesh.
Employee Welfare Initiatives
The “Yoga–TTD Arogyanand” programme was conducted for 14 days at 17 centres in Tirupati to promote physical fitness and mental well-being among employees and students.
280 Retired Employees Honoured
For the first time in TTD history, 280 employees who retired between January 1 and July 31, 2026, were honoured at Mahati Kalakshetra on July 31 in recognition of their dedicated service.
Strict Action Against False Propaganda
The Chairman said TTD would not tolerate false propaganda that hurts the sentiments of devotees.
He said strict legal action would be taken to protect the faith and confidence of devotees.
Sri B.R. Naidu congratulated the TTD Vigilance and Security personnel for conducting an impressive parade and prayed to Lord Venkateswara to bless the entire world with peace and prosperity.
